Abstract
The performance of a Flight Controller is dependent on the acquisition time and processing speed of the microcontroller. The paper discusses the usage of the Cortex M3 based processor PSoC5 and cortex M4 based processor STM32F4 for sensor data acquisition and processing. The Flight Controller comprises of Global Positioning System (GPS), Sensor suite, external fl ash for data logging, and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to control aileron, rudder a nd elevator surfaces of Micro Aerial Vehicle (MAV). The paper summarizes the acquisition and performance comparison of the two processors PSoC and STM32F4.
