Abstract

The article deals with the comparative analysis of two Russian translations of “The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark” by W. Shakespeare. To this day, the translations by M.L. Lozinsky and B.L. Pasternak are considered classical in literary studies. The author examines the main translation techniques, brings to light stylistic features of each text in order to contrast them. The article describes the peculiarities of both M.L. Lozinsky’s and B.L. Pasternak’s translations of the phrases from the tragedy, which became winged words.
