Abstract
The inner forms of over 500 Slavic and non-Slavic toponyms are analysed, semantics of which reflects different aspects of physical attributes of Kamchatka’s water objects signified, the system relationship between words is described. The study provides a first consideration of the object of research in the context of structural semantics. Basic strategies of naming are specified, the parameters of using the strategies for Slavic and aboriginal toponyms are compared.
