NO RELATION, BUT THUS… (ANALYSIS OF LEONTY KOZLOV’S AND LEONTY KHABAROV’S IMAGES IN THE NOVEL “THE PRECIPICE” AND IN THE ESSAY “TRICK OF FORTUNE” BY I.A. GONCHAROV)

In the article the images of Leonty Kozlov and Leonty Khabarov have been analyzed. In the course of structural analysis contextually determined affinity of characters has been proved, the specificity of the author’s intention revealed and features of its realization showed. The analysis of Kozlov’s and Khabarov’s images as psychologically similar characters allowed for deeper understanding of the literary paradigm of I.A. Goncharov’s artistic legacy.
