Abstract
The semantic parallel in Old English and Old Russian languages is caused by the general Indo-European origin of the word. Gradually, during development of abstract thinking the naive worldview was replaced with scientific, ancient syncretism broke up, and in the word these or those values were fixed, which are often dictated by historical living conditions of the people.
