GENDER, MARITAL VIOLENCE AND MACHISMO: A STUDY ABOUT THE CORPORATE PROFILE AND CULTURE OF OFFENDERS OF DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Unequal gender relations and power are present in the history of families and societies supported by sexist and patriarchal culture brands. In this sense the past several decades advances have giving up on the legal and academic field in order to analyze, understand , and especially facing violence , which focuses specifically on the household and family context against women , in which man - offender remains or maintained an intimate and affection to the woman - victim relationship. The present study, bibliographic nature aims to reflect about the social profile of these offenders, perpetrators of violence. For this, a theoretical survey was conducted from some authors who have been addressing this issue. What can be seen is that these men, perpetrators of violence are wrapped in the culture of masculinity, characterized by force and authoritarianism of the same in their marital relationships.
