Abstract
In her works on pedagogy, Catherine II emphasizes the necessity of upbringing orientation of the education and advocates the close connection between mind and body training. Analyzing her views on the issues of upbringing and teaching content, we can note that as a person who is eager to learn and is aware of what knowledge is worth, she pointed out the importance and relevance of education for each person as well as for society as a whole.
