Abstract

In this article an attempt of the analysis of some aspects of interrelation between lateralization of brain function and scientific researches of leading scientists is made. Using numerous examples from different scientific disciplines the opposite types of research activity connected with dominance of cerebral hemispheres are emphasized. The specifics of thinking of the scientist controlled by both the right brain, and the left hemisphere are noted. Also dominance of functional laterality in science in context of national culture specifics is considered. Here two types of researchers are compared where one type corresponds to the German school, and another ? with the English school. Also the Spengler's terms of Faustian, Apollonian and Magian souls in the context of lateralization of brain function are given. The issue of perception of scientific discoveries is noted. The emphasis is placed that the scientific consciousness is tormented with two withstanding vectors of perceptions: one is aimed at understanding and usage of scientific contribution, and another ? at non-admission and rejection of something new. In this regard the attention is paid to that the dominance of hemispheres influence has an impact on perception, an assessment, interpretation of discoveries. In this context the examples not only of personal and individual perception of innovations, but the option of joint rejection of unusual are given. And not just it is given, an attempt of an explanation of such phenomena is also made.
