Abstract
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in female patients around the world reaching 31%. In the world 1,67 million patients with breast cancer have been registered. Age, reproductive factors, personal or family anamnesis of breast diseases, genetic predisposition and ecological factors are associated with the increased risk of development of breast cancer. The research objective was to reveal prevalence of risk factors of breast cancer in female patients. 420 women receiving treatment in hospital have been questioned by means of specially elaborated survey. The obtained data confirm a high cancer risk among the examined women. High rates of smoking and alcohol intake among female respondents, the level of abortions have been revealed; heredity is aggravated; there is a tendency to early beginning of a menstrual cycle in this group of people; ignorance about modern methods of diagnostics, as well as about risk factors of breast cancer development is widespread in rural areas.
