Abstract

To select effectively the protective devices for screw conveyors designs, we have improved the scheme of interconnection of the structural characteristics of screw and protecting mechanisms and the loading conditions. The design of elastic-safety clutches of screw conveyor is worked out in this work. It allows smooth launching of auger during the drive start-up as well as reducing the dynamic loads on the conveyor during overload. The analytical dependence of determining the auger strength for effective selection of safety clutches and their configuration to the appropriate torque transmission is concretized. Based on structural parameters of screw working bodies, the permissible torque is defined St. 3.
