THE MAIN TRENDS AND PROBLEMS OF DEMOGRAPHIC POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE FAR EAST OF RUSSIA

In modern Russia one of key problems is demographic situation of the Russian Far East, which is characterized by the following features: the strongest decline in population of the region, worsening of the age structure, the low birth rate that rapidly drops below the threshold level each year. This position is dangerous because the labor force in the Far East may find itself in a situation of larger deficit. Reduction of number of the young population sets for the region the serious and intractable problem, especially in the socio-economic sphere. Demographic problems of the Far East are the priority direction of the country for implementation of the strategic development plan, and furthermore for implementing of the strategy of economic security.
