Abstract

In the paper a classification of flax stems (straw) is suggested. It allows choosing an efficient technology to process the stems at the stage of flax harvesting. A concept model of technologies for processing flax stems is substantiated based on the developed classification. The situation in Ukrainian flax industry today is ambiguous. There is a significant decrease in textile flax production and an increase in oleaginous flax production. There are differences between oleaginous flax that was grown in various climates the researches have shown. The experiments have proved that the varieties of oleaginous flax growing in the wet and cold climate have a length that allows the stems to be processed into a fiber. Flax stem fiber mass windrows are remained in the field during a harvesting. However, agricultural producers do not have the appropriate technologies and tools. There was based a concept model of resource-saving technology to harvest flax stems by simultaneously processing flax stem fiber mass into the produce of diverse functional application, such as small-sized fuel rolls, fuel briquettes and fiber, according to flax stem classification properties. On the basis of it the offers concerning technologies of harvesting of flax with simultaneous processing of stalks and processing of flax stem fiber mass for agricultural producers are submitted.
