Abstract
Industrial waste heat is the energy generated by manufacturing activities that are not being used for a certain practical purpose and that is lost, unused and polluted in the climatic conditions. The recovered waste heat can be applied to various methods of recycling waste heat as well as provide useful energy sources and reduce total consumption of energy. The present study addresses the problem of thermal energy, which is wasted in the form of flue gases. In existing system on hot air dryer process steam is circulated in air heater to make it hot and dry the sheet. This work is done on a Non-ox furnace that is an annealing furnace most commonly used in process industries. The fundamental goal is to recycle excess heat from the system and turn the wasted energy into usable work to make the cycle of energy conversion as strong as possible for hot air dryer. This paper covers a) To design heat exchangers for shells and tubes for WHRS use kern's method. b) To carry out performance analysis by using CFD simulation. For validation, the analytical results were compared with the CFD simulation results.
