Abstract
This theoretical study aims to explore the cultural display of masculine authority and administrative arrangement in the media institution and how it affects gender balance and development. It also intends to illuminate how the media affects male and female stability and growth. Male domination is as historic as a human community. It might differ from one society to another; however, it continues doggedly for the modern period. The discussion on gender imbalance has been extensively at the focal point of historical studies for a long time in the media. Since 1970 the interest in the issue of gender inequalities in the media institution has been massive. This is because the media represents a significant economic sector. It is a socializing agent, and an educational establishment, a political mobilization, transmitter of information, and guardian of cultural values to the broader society. However, the media is a source of a deterrent to the progress of gender balance in various societies, considering the indication and promotion of culturally constructed ideologies. Nevertheless, the media remains an institution that can generate a solution to the persisting stereotypes and discrimination experienced by the feminine gender. If the culturally constructed doctrines that cause bias in society are constantly unpromoted on the media, the gender inequalities will be eliminated eventually. Conclusively, the assumption is that the electronic and print media have the potential to redirect society. With the redirection, there is a possibility of overcoming the menace if women are positively represented, that is; in the administration of the media and not relegated to similar roles they perform in the household. In this way bridging the gender gap and reducing the cultural practices that militate against women development and society.
