Abstract

During the last years, the department of Nariño has devoted a large part of its efforts to transform its environment through sustainable economic processes. Through the use of geostrategic potentialities for the development of Agricultural activity, and together with the formulation of small transformation projects in traditional practices, the department seeks to be more competitive. From the Regional Competitiveness Commission of the department of Nariño, fourteen productive bets are identified, with a competitiveness project can be formulated to the year 2032. Being Nariño a department of agricultural tradition, the Sindamanoy group proposes the project "Achievements and challenges of the Mypimes of the agroindustrial subsector of the department", whose objective is to investigate the potentialities and the competitive advances of their products in each area. Agroindustry, the process through which both raw materials and intermediate products are improved as a result of agricultural activity, is a great option for Nariño to increase competitiveness. In this sense, the integration of the different processes for the development of agroindustry becomes a fundamental strategy to face the challenges demanded by an increasingly competitive market. In addition, in this process a so called triad must be linked: government, academia and the private sector. Under this scenario, this article presents the results of the advanced research process in four of the geographic subregions of the department of Nariño; after which it was possible to verify that the department has a series of potentialities, such as agriculture, which through agroindustrial transformation processes will generate higher income for producers and the region.
