THE INFLUENCE OF CLASSES IN SPORTS IMPROVEMENT SECTIONS ON THE MORAL EDUCATION OF STUDENT YOUTH

Abstract

Introduction. The work is devoted to finding ways to improve the moral education of future physical education teachers under the influence of regular classes in the sections of sports improvement. Higher education institutions are actively searching for effective ways to educate the next generation of physically healthy and highly moral people who are able to build a democratic state and pass on to children the best features of modern man. The urgency of the issue of educating student youth is determined by the new tasks set by modern society's demands on the Ukrainian people – to prepare the younger generation for active participation in the management of economic, political and social affairs of their country. Regular classes in the sections of sports improvement convincingly contribute to the improvement of moral education of future physical education teachers, such as indicators of social activity, attitude to learning, indicators of collectivism, friendship and camaraderie, attitude to nature and attitude to public property. Purpose. The aim of the research is to study the impact of classes in sports improvement sections on the moral education of student youth, aimed at the comprehensive and harmonious development of the personality of future physical education teachers. Methods. Analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observations, and pedagogical experiment, sociological research methods (questionnaire, method of expert assessments, and method of self-assessment) were used. Results. Moral education of student youth in the study was assessed by a certain set of personality qualities (patriotism, diligence, care for public property, character, discipline, collectivism, social activity). The analysis of the research results showed that during the four years of student youth' educational and training the dynamics of indicators of their moral education had a positive trend. From year to year their social activity grew, the attitude to training, to physical activities in the training process in sports and pedagogical disciplines improved. The feeling of collectivism, friendship and camaraderie, attitude to nature grew. Originality. In order to increase the level of moral education of students, future teachers of physical education, the theme of ecology of the inner world of man was developed as one of the forms of educational and training work in classes in sections of sports improvement. The pedagogical experiment involved long-term pedagogical observations throughout the course of undergraduate studies. Conclusion. The combination of the training process in the section of sports improvement with knowledge of the ecology of the inner world of man allows students, members of the sections of sports improvement, to use the training process more effectively to improve their moral qualities. Regular classes in the sections of sports improvement contribute to the convincing improvement of indicators of moral education of future physical education teachers, demonstrating their significant improvement during their studies at Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University. The results of experimental research can be used to create guidelines for physical education teachers on the possibility of using the means of physical education and sports to improve the morale of the younger generation.
