Features of the demographic situation in the Orenburg region

The features of the demographic situation of the Orenburg region are based on the following values: a significant area of the region (124 thousand square kilometers), a low population density (15.82 inhabitants per 1 square kilometer), a high proportion of the rural population (more than 39 percent), a sharply continental climate, a large length of the border with the Republic of Kazakhstan (1876 km) and a multinational population (119 nationalities). The current demographic situation in Orenburg region has developed as a result of the process of long-term development and settlement of the territory of the region. This article presents the historical components that influenced the modern demographic situation of Orenburg region, and also considers the peculiarity of the placement of the population on the territory of the Orenburg region.
