GEOGRAPHY AND DEVELOPMENT TRENDS OF WORLD TOURISM

Introduction. Tourism is a powerful branch of the world economy and has developed in all regions of the world. It has a significant multiplier effect on the expansion of other branches of the economy, improving the welfare of the local population and overall regional growth. Its economic stability is proven by modern indicators of development despite numerous negative influences, including global crisis phenomena. Ensuring the sustainability of tourism as a whole and the rational organization of the work of a separate tourist enterprise requires constant monitoring of this multifaceted phenomenon in many aspects. The most important of which are regional indicators of development and prevailing trends in varieties, organization of travel, service, motives and preferences of consumers, which determines the relevance of the topic of this publication.
