Abstract
The article analyzes the features of the poetics S. King's story “1922”, the author's connection with the literary traditions in the development of the central motives and problems of the work. It is shown as a writer, picturing the metamorphoses of evil, mixes the reality and fiction, creating a discourse of self-exposure and condemnation of the hero.
