Abstract
Brake drum usually do not have grooves. The function of the groove is as airflow and wasting a result of friction brake dust with a drum. Tests carried out three trials speed of 40 km/h, 50 km/h and 60 km/h at the load suppression lever and brake pedal 4 kg and 5 kg. Data were analyzed using the formula T test at significance level of 5%. After the T test, brake lining groove opposite shows a major influence on the braking distance is at 5 kg load with the results (T count 10.211 > T table 4.303) at the significant level of 5%. To brake the flow direction of the spin of the wheel to the front wheel drum brake temperature at the load 4 kg with the results (T count 16.385 > T table 4.303) at the significant level of 5%. The temperature of the rear wheel drum brakes, brake lining groove in the direction of rotation of the wheel on the load of 5 kg showed the most significant results where (T count 13.942 > T table 4.303) with significance level of 5%.
