Abstract
The article is devoted to the determination of definition of choral miniature. Author uses the basis of genre theory, concentrates on etymology of genre name. Analyzing the scientific results associated with this phenomenon it was discovered the stability of some genre attributes that allow stating the definition of choral miniature.
