Abstract

It is shown the changing of artists' financial position and the factors influencing these changes in terms of the activities of K. P. Bryullov, A.A. Ivanov and the artists from their immediate environment. The well-being of the artists grew along with the growth of prosperity of the state and thanks to the attention of the Emperor. It's much more important that art occurred in the focus of everybody's attention and got public support. Artists found their private customers. K.P. Bryullov became thriving fast thanks to the power of his talent and his diligence. A.A. Ivanov was financially unsound and did not seek to support himself by his labor.
