Abstract
The major theoretical approaches to the problem have been analyzed, psychological approaches have been identified to the concept of professional self-determination and it`s place and role in the total sense of self-life personality. Different aspects of professional self-identity have been distinguished in the context of career guidance and professional consultation with students. The interrelation of professional self-identity with personal, life, social and other types of self-determination and influence of environment on professional self-identity have been discovered and its proactive stance. Life stance of personality, it`s ideological installations, ideals and social values is the foundation, which will determine professional strategy and professional self-identity. In particular, some scientists believe that the success of professional self-respect affects a person following principles: create own professional life; be aware of future opportunities and promote development; be active and responsible when choosing a profession and the ideas of it`s implementation; set realistic goals and achieve the desired result in the mastery of future professional activity; recognize errors in professional self-determination and purposeful work to eliminate them Based on the analysis of works of foreign and Ukrainian authors, we conclude that the foreign science as well as Ukrainian, has no single theory in understanding the process of professional self-determination. In practice, European psychologists perceive self-understanding as a long and continuous process of implementation of individual assistance to students in choosing a profession. In most cases, this assistance is treated as a self-help, but professional self-determination is a disclosure of personal provisions it`s creativity, uniqueness and individuality. Scientists link the professional self-determination with personal self-determination, with it`s self-realization in various spheres of life, with self-actualization, self-transcendence and self-understanding. Modern psychology has accumulated rich experience in professional self-determination theory. The presence of such diversity points the complexity of this phenomenon. Also professional self-determination is largely driven by the peculiarities of the country and a certain social environment of district, city, village, which needs further study.
