RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FUTURE SOCIAL WORKERS TRAINING IN UNIVERSITIES AND THE POSSIBILITY OF BEING EMPLOYED

Abstract

The relationship between the future professionals' training, including social workers, in universities and the possibility of their employment after graduation is described in this article. It was founded that the lack of an established scheme of partnership between the labor market and higher education institutions, the imperfections of the existing system of professional orientation of young people, which results in an imbalance of demand and supply of labor, soviet approaches to future professionals' training, which mainly focuses on lectures and exams, lack of practical work experience makes impossible graduates' employment. The article reveals the key problems which faced the university graduates in finding the job. They include: lack of practical experience, work experience from the specialty; low level of theoretical and practical skills; low competitiveness of graduates; discrepancy of employer needs to work that is done, the gap between the content of education and the requirements of the employers; the increasing of competition on the labor market of professions and specialties, due to which future specialists are trained in universities; mostly unconscious approach to the choosing of future profession (imperfections of the existing system of professional guidance of youth, focus on getting the prestigious (at the moment) profession that can be unclaimed in the labor market); psychological unpreparedness of young people to make independent decisions; aborted values of university graduates. The author has determined the main trends which will help to solve the problem of university graduates employment to which we refer: the analysis of demand and supply on specialists with higher education; promote the conclusion of agreements between universities and enterprises, institutions and organizations on internships and practical training of students; strengthening of an information block (various brochures, job fairs, vouchers on vacancies); expansion and working out of the patterns of interaction between employment services and education authorities for the implementation of specific measures for the improving of the quality of education; strengthening the competitiveness of graduates in the labor market; strengthening of the competitiveness of graduates on the labor market; motivation to find a job from the specialty; the development of projects focused on the financing of active measures to promote youth employment. The professional training of competitive specialists who can respond to changes in the labor market, improve themselves and develop their professionalism is the main objectives of universities in Ukraine. Construction of the optimal model of cooperation between the universities and the labor market will improve the quality of future professionals training and adapt to the demands of the labor market, which will promote employment of graduates.
