Abstract

The article presents the analysis of the current state of mathematical training of students-ecologists in the system of higher agricultural education, clarified the role of mathematical science and academic discipline "Higher mathematics", the specifics of teaching the subject in the agricultural universities. Defined the goals of mathematics education and the main problems faced by the students in the learning process, clarified the reasons for the unsatisfactory level in mathematics in schools and universities, lighted views on ways to improve the learning of mathematics future professionals. Mathematical education in the agricultural University is the Foundation of higher education of the future specialist. Future ecologists need to provide mathematical knowledge and skills at a level sufficient for analysis and professional tasks. The goal of the article lies in the study of the modern state of mathematical training of students-ecologists of agricultural universities. During research it has been established that the course “Higher mathematics” – one of the components of the complex of disciplines of the modern training of an environmental professional and is the key to effective absorption of other fundamental courses and special disciplines. The goal of mathematical education of agricultural universities is to teach future specialists to know the basics of mathematical apparatus necessary for the analysis and solution of production problems; to form the ability to make mathematical models of processes, to develop the skills of their mathematical research; to develop skills of logical and algorithmic thinking, to develop intelligence. The specifics of the course "Higher mathematics" for students-ecologists in agrarian higher education institutions is determined by the short period of the study. The reduction of hours of training occurs in the context of large-scale use of information and communication technologies. One of the problems of teaching mathematics in high school is the reluctance of students to study it quite difficult to convince them of the necessity of application of mathematical methods in professional disciplines in their future careers. Existing methodical system of teaching mathematics are taught most of the students formally apply to the study of the discipline. In recent years, among students, there is a General trend that can be described as the degradation of mathematical knowledge and skills. This is due to several reasons. Reduced attention to the content of school and University mathematics courses; reduction in the demands of mathematical training of pupils and students; mathematics ceased to be necessary and prestigious; the emergence of private higher education institutions increased the number of students who almost do not study and pay the efforts of the teachers. Given the above, it is possible to identify the main reasons for this situation in the practice of teaching mathematics students-ecologists, agricultural specialties, among which the most significant are: 1) traditional methods of teaching mathematics does not provide a sufficient level of motivation, interest, study math, activity of the educational-cognitive activity of students; 2) the lack of appropriate teaching materials; 3) learning material is given to the insufficient number of teaching hours; 4) low level of basic mathematical training, especially students in rural areas, making it extremely difficult to assimilate mathematical knowledge. Enough about the level of mathematical training of students-ecologists, can be concluded that the established methods of teaching, this cannot in our time to meet the needs of the agricultural production of specialists of high qualification.
