WORK ON THE PREPOSITION IN THE 5TH GRADE AS A PREPARATORY STEP TO THE REALIZATION OF ITS COMMUNICATIVE ROLE IN THE STRUCTURE OF COMMUNICATION

Abstract
The method of accompanying learning of preposition in the 5th grade according to the comprehensive school curriculum has been provided. The preposition refers to those linguistic resources that provide semantic unity of statements, serve as a means of design. One of the important components in the work on the preposition in the secondary school is a preparatory stage in the students realization of preposition as a linguistic means in the structure of communication. After analyzing the program material, the content has been defined and the types of work on the prepositions and prepositional-case constructions in the course of studying of linguistic material have been outlined. The first stage is the section «Revision of Studied Material of the Elementary School», whose tasks are to identify the prepositions in the proposed language material, determine their relationship with other words, enter the missing prepositions in the text – contribute to the development of language skills of students of the fifth grade. In the course of studying the section «Information on the Syntax and Punctuation» there are offered exercises on the observation of syntactic functions of the preposition, on the learning of some important communicative prepositional constructions, on the transformation of the linguistic material and building phrases and sentences with prepositions. Only by understanding the main syntactic models, students can form new phrases and sentences in their sample using words that require a particular speech situation. Studying the topic «The Main Cases of Alternation у – в» we acquaint students with phonetic variations of prepositions as a means of achieving euphony, which is one of the natural tendencies and the peculiarities of the Ukrainian language, improve the student speech in its expressiveness. On the development of skills to use prepositions according to the requirements of the phonetic expressiveness we use the exercises on observation of the communicative functions of prepositions, the complement of the language material by the tool, for editing sentences. Studying the section «The Structure of the Word. The spelling» we revise and extend information about prefixes and prepositions, peculiarities of their differentiation and writing. We propose the monitoring of the phrases, sentences in which the prefix and the preposition are the same for graphic design. Applying the methods of analogy, comparison, we fix the student skills to distinguish prepositions and prefixes, write them correctly. This developed system of exercises and tasks can be used in the creation of textbooks, manuals for teachers and students.
