BASIS OF PATRIOTIC EDUCATION IN THE PEDAGOGICAL HERITAGE OF A. A. ZAKHARENKO

Introduction. In the period of formation of Ukrainian statehood, the problem of Patriotic education of the individual is of particular importance. This is because patriotism is a valuable Foundation of any society and is not only the factor of integration of our nation, but also a significant motive of self-development and disclosure of all potential capabilities of each person in the spiritual, economic and socio-political spheres. Purpose. Recognizing the need to develop a fundamentally new model of education of XXI century, which would meet the challenges of the present, in the documents of UNESCO, the main directions of reforming the educational system determined the following: globalization of social processes, the humanization and democratization of education; its focus on continuous personal development and formation of national consciousness, love to the native land, its people, the desire to work for the prosperity of the state, readiness to defend it. Under such conditions, the priority task of the modern educational process is the education of patriotism of students. A unique example of the Patriotic education of the citizen in the conditions of modernization social change is presented by the teaching staff Sakhnovskaya high school Korsun-Shevchenko district, Cherkasy region, headed by a prominent Ukrainian pedagogue Alexander Antonovich Zakharenko. Its founder, organizer, idea generator was a talented teacher, a wonderful man, a true patriot – Alexander Antonovich Zakharenko. He's almost 40 years of his life devoted to Sahnevich school, having passed the way from teacher to academician APN of Ukraine. Results. The author analyzes the views of scientists in the modern philosophical, political and pedagogical literature on Patriotic education. Also, discover the ideas of the outstanding Ukrainian teacher A. A. Zakharenko on Patriotic education of children and youth. Originality. First described a unique example of the Patriotic education of the citizen in the conditions of modernization and social change, which represents teaching staff Sakhnovskaya high school Korsun-Shevchenko district, Cherkasy region, led by an outstanding Ukrainian pedagogue Alexander Antonovich Zakharenko. Conclusion. In the modern period of transformation of Ukrainian society, a period of substantial growth requirements of the individual, his moral qualities, education, cultural level, the role of Patriotic education, in our opinion, is growing exponentially. It was Alexander Antonovich Zakharenko created a holistic, self-sufficient system of civil-Patriotic education, the components of which are conditions, principles, methods, ways of solution of tasks of formation of a citizen-patriot. The efficiency is proved by time. This gives reason for a comprehensive study of the pedagogical heritage of academic practice, research papers and experience activities which will help us to solve modern problems of education of a person.
