QUALITIES OF A LEADER AS A BASIS OF A FUTURE EDUCATION MANAGER’S SUCCESSFULNESS

Abstract
Introduction. The problem of leadership and its effective use in EDUCATION management occupies an important place in the theory and practice of comprehensive schools management. It goes without saying that a manager must be a leader for successful execution of his duties. The leader implements an important management function: he indicates the direction forward, leads the staff, directs them. The present creates a situation when it is difficult to succeed not only for industrial enterprises but also for social-oriented organizations. Leadership is such a phenomenon that along with the management and making decision inherents the whole system of government. At the same time an effective manager clearly has a positive effect on the efficiency of management, but effective leaders are not always effective managers. The leader's influence upon his staff demonstrates his efficiency, sometimes effective but informal leadership can be an obstacle for achieving the goal of an organization. The purpose is to analyze the basic leadership skills for succeeding in the management of an educational establishment. Results. Management culture of a future education manager is a set of basic competency skills and character traits that includes a professional calling, a scientific potential, a need for self-improvement, strategic thinking, strong-willed, managerial and designing qualities; efficiency, productivity, research culture; leadership and potential – leadership style, efficiency, charisma, innovation, reformative qualities). Such requirements involve not only the leader talent, but also a reservoir of quite various knowledge. This knowledge forms a gnosiological component of a manager efficiency, it will be observed in our next section of the thesis. Originality. Transformational or reformative leadership ensures availability of a technology of management activities for creative problem solving in crisis. It provides a number of positives. First it is necessary for a manager to influence employees by engaging them in self-government, to be a part of a group (an organization), to support the joint efforts enthusiastically; to require critical evaluation of existing abilities and awareness of own actions, increasing of significancy of a reasonability of joint solutions. Secondly, since trust develops interdependence between a manager and his staff, there is a danger that the head may surround himself with people who agree with his decisions or will be exposed to subordinates. These two aspects are considered by us as interdependent and equally possible, however it must be emphasized that during the master training at a pedagogical university a future manager should get good knowledge about his own possibilities of belonging to a particular type of leadership. Conclusion. Human leadership is a set of basic competency skills and character traits that are essential for a future education manager. A successful education managere needs an ability to develop innovative and controversial ways to solve problems, to assume the role of a leader in order to unite the team around him, to develop a confidence with teachers, to show competence, professionalism, skills needed to succeed.
