Abstract
The article investigates the key element of the organizational excellence's model, knowledge management. Article contains description of the process of "knowledge management"; its role and functions are discovered; the knowledge value and its place in the organization's assets structure are defined. The author differentiates the concepts of "data", "knowledge" and "information". Moreover, the analysis of capital investment in intangible assets of enterprises in Ukraine in 2004-2014 has been done. Ways to improve the formal training in organizations are presented that makes possible to use knowledge as a strategic tool to ensure the success and competitive capacity of the organization.
