Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) is a novel paradigm, which allows smart devices to be attached to patient's body to assist his physiological processes and to monitor his medical condition. These IoT medical devices serve a critical function of providing automated lifesaving assistance continuously. Based on the medical device, it needs periodic updates like patient vital parameter setting, calibration, software patch, firmware and other configuration changes. Lack of these updates on IoT-based devices leads to behave erratically and expose to cyber security threats and attacks. This paper discusses pending patent model of distributing the configuration services and updates in IoT-based peer-to-peer medical devices.
