History and Identity in the early years of elementary school

Abstract
The investigation was developed with the scope to uncover the reality of history teaching in the early years of elementary school publico of Barra do Corda-MA, aiming at the recognition of the teaching of history as a tool of individual and collective identity formation of the subject to be active in society. The dialectical method associated with a culturalist approach, because it allows a dialogue with sources of documents used by another discipline and the everyday life of students. The data collection instruments were the semi-structured interview and questionnaire opoen/closed with six teachers and thirty-one students. It was noted that the teaching of History may contribute to the construction of the identity of active subjects, because it enables a teaching focused on understanding of the dialectic of the educating.
