Abstract
Ecopedagogy is a new political and pedagogical movement aimed at building a utopian project of society that promotes profound changes in human, social and environmental relations. However, the inclusion of ecopedagogy in teacher training courses is still a challenge to be faced. The present work had the intention to investigate the contribution of the ecopedagogy in the initial formation of students of the Course of Degree in Pedagogy of the Campus III of the UFPB, in the Curricular Component Thematic Seminary II. A qualitative research approach was used, with a case study and the application of a questionnaire with questions open to eight students of the curricular component investigated. The data indicate that the contribution of ecopedagogy in the training of the students relates not only to their performance in the classroom in dealing with environmental issues, but also to the possibility of ecopedagogy as a theoretical basis to enhance the practice of these professionals.
