Abstract
Throughout this paper I will try to offer an analysis of the importance of developing social skills within the classroom in order to develop socially competent individuals. Starting from the conceptual framework, I will establish differences between different authors and I will study the two models that try to understand and develop social skills Later we find an analysis of the skills that come into play in the development of social skills, being able to stand out among them: Empathy, assertiveness, etc. As well as, the importance of working with social skills in the classroom and because it is essential to educate them in schools. Finally, I will analyze a very valuable tool to detect students with deficits in Social Skills: The sociogram; and I will expose a series of programs developed by different authors for the development of social skills.
