THE ROLE OF PRACTICING IN INTERNAL MEDICINE FOR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS OBTAINING BY FIFTH COURSE MEDICAL STUDENTS

Abstract

The article shows the importance of getting the practice of internal medicine. The goal is to expand the practical and theoretical knowledge for the fifth year students of the medical faculty for future professional activities. The practice itself ensures the development of students' knowledge and practical skills and is carried out in accordance with the modern requirements of the Bologna system. Conducting the final control reflects the degree of mastering them, which plays a crucial role for the integration of skills and abilities, self-examination and treatment of patients, and direct preparation for state attestation. It has been proved that students can acquire practical skills only in cooperation with the patient, that is, studying a specialty should take place in conditions close to professional activity. It has been shown that the conduct of industrial practice is carried out based on the concept of constant cooperation of the teachers of the department (practitioners) and students. Practitioners pay due attention to the formation of clinical thinking among students, the development of practical skills, the acquisition of a culture of communication with them. The professional success of a doctor depends on the ability to communicate, establish and develop rela-tionships with people. The profession of a doctor involves long-term communication with patients, their relatives and medical staff. It is important that passing of the practice of medical students to the fifth year of the medical faculty is carried out during the semester on the basis of the poli-clinics of the city, which ensures closer cooperation be-tween students and leaders on the part of faculty mem-bers. The supervisors of the industrial practice are the current control of students in the departments of the clinic. According to the results of practical activity of the student and the quality of filling the diary of practice, according to the criteria developed at the department, students are evaluated. It has been proved that passing of the practice during the year gives a chance to assist the faculty with the emergence of urgent problems for students, as well as to implement more precise control over the discipline, visiting during the module. A positive result on the as-similation of the list of necessary practical skills is the constant work of students at the educational and practical center "Medicine". At the final module control, students demonstrate their acquired skills and knowledge by solving two situational tasks and demonstrating practical skills. In evaluating students' responses, teachers take into account the criteria that are covered in the work program of practice. When solving situational problems, students justify and formulate a clinical diagnosis, principles of treatment, prevention and emergency care. Consequently, industrial practice can consolidate the practical skills gained during the learning process, develop the ability to make an independent decision on diagnosis and treatment, master the procedure for the registration of medical records, and master the rules of deontology and medical ethics. An important role is the quality organization of production practice at the Faculty of Medicine, as the ability to consolidate practical skills in real professional conditions.
