Abstract
In the interwar period in Lviv there were numerous universities which educated future scientific staff not only of Polish nationality. The nationality of students of Lviv's universities, as well as the city's community, was diverse: students of the Roman Catholic faith were 55%, Moses 25.6%, Greek Catholic 16.3%, Evangelical 1.4%, Orthodox 1.3%, other religions 0.4%. In the publication on “Universities and Science of Lviv” most attention was focused on state universities: Jan Kazimierz University, Lviv Polytechnic, Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Higher School of Foreign Trade. An attempt was made to present universities where Ukrainians, Jews, Armenians and representatives of other faiths studied in Lviv until 1939. The publication also focuses on university libraries, scientific societies and academic associations operating at the universities.
