Abstract
The concept of genre from positions of discourse analysis is examined; the communicative goal of linguistic manipulation from the point of view of discursive community is specified; mechanisms of linguistic means of audience impact on the example of political discourse are studied. The analysis of examples showed the communication effectiveness in political discourse with the chosen compliance of genre attitudes and impact of genre categories on the achievement of certain communicative goals of discursive community.
