INSTITUTE OF RETORSION IN INTERNATIONAL LAW

The article is devoted to a detailed analysis of the institution of retorsion in international law: the theoretical foundations of this phenomenon, its features, the practice of application in the history of many countries of the world are considered. Exploring all these aspects, the author turns to the scientific works of leading foreign and Ukrainian scientists in the field of international law. For the reasoning of the statements stated in the article, the author gives examples from the legislation of different countries of the world and specific cases of the application of retorsion in the history. Based on all the material, the author concludes that the institution of retorsion is a relevant and effective way of resolving different international conflicts.
