Dünden Bugüne Psikiyatri Hemşireliği ve Toplum Ruh Sağlığı Hizmetlerinin Sunumunda Yaşanan Etik Sorunlar/Ethical Problems in The Presentation of Psychiatric Nursing and Community Mental Health Services From Past to Today

The way of being treated to individuals with mental health problems showed a parallel direction with the perspective of the societies. The field of psychiatry has always included ethical problems that are not similar to each other and tried to develop. The missions and responsibilities of the personnel serving in this field have also undergone a change process with the period they belonged to. Pharmacological and technological developments have created a way for nurses to specialize, but at the same time brought some moral difficulties and contradictions. Especially with community mental health service delivery from a hospitalbased model to a community-based model, many different aspects of ethical problems have also been raised. Numerical inadequacy of mental health workers in Turkey, the rapid change of the team leader and the team is one of the factors that directly affect the quality of service and ethical values. To provide patient-oriented care in community mental health centers where recovery is considered a target, the treatment process will be possible not only with well-trained staff, as well as with sufficient staff, patients, patient relatives, existing civil society services and active participation of stakeholders.
