Abstract
In this era of industrialization, the state of Jammu and Kashmir is still industrially backward and failed to make it to the industrial map of the country. According to Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy CMIE report of 2019 J&K has the highest monthly average unemployment rate among all states. This problem further worsened because the avenues of private sector employment is almost nil. On the other hand, the primary motive of setting MSMEs in the country is to generate employment opportunities for the unemployed population. Taking into consideration the unemployment scenario this study is being done with an insight to examine the distribution of MSMEs in the state and the employment generated by these enterprises
