Abstract

Purpose: The main target of this research was to investigate the role of organizational justice and transformational leadership in growing employees' engagement at the banking sector (Commercial and Microcredit) institutions of District Khairpur, Pakistan. Design/methodology/approach: The researcher aimed at adopting the positivist stance for the interpretation of the data given by respondents. The study adopted a quantitative and deductive approach with the cross-sectional time horizon. Findings: The findings of the study shown that organizational justice positively and significantly grows the employees' engagement whereas, transactional leadership grows negatively but significantly. A significant but negative affiliation was seen between organizational justice and transformational leadership in the context of employees' engagement. Originality/value: The uniqueness of this study was the focus on both commercial and microcredit institutions at the same time. Several studies were already carried out on the areas individually, but authors were in perspectives to check the results with combined areas at a time. This study bridged the gap in studies focusing on both commercial and microcredit institutions. This research will add some more fruits to getting employees' engaged.
