Psychological aspects of the competitiveness of future specialists in the tourism industry

Abstract

The article presents the results of the theoretical and empirical research of the competitiveness of future specialists in the tourism industry. It is determined that the development of the tourism industry is regulated at the legislative level through the adoption of the Strategy for the development of tourism and resorts for the period up to 2026. For the development of competitiveness of future specialists in the tourism industry, the kind of career they are aimed at (obviously the focus on the career of an entrepreneur, manager) affects the tourism industry. The basis for the ability to compete is the following characteristics: attitude towards achievement, success, ability to go for reasonable risk, ability to organize communication skills, at the same time. It is empirically investigated that future specialists in the tourism industry are mainly aimed at different career orientations, most often choose the career orientations of "management", "autonomy", "stability" and "entrepreneurship"; the highest manifestations of communicative and organizational skills among students who choose career orientations "management" and "entrepreneurship"; more than half of respondents are ready for a moderate, weighted risk in future professional activity; the most willing to risk students, aimed at the career orientation of "management"; a moderately high level of motivation for success is manifested. The revealed relationship of career orientation "management" with a scale "organizational capacity" is low and with direct interdependence. It is noted that for the formation and development of a competitive future specialist of the tourism industry in the system of training, psychological disciplines are used and social and psychological trainings are used as active, practical methods. It is determined that the prospect of the study is to expand the study of those characteristics that affect the competitiveness of future specialists in the tourism industry. And also in developing and implementing active teaching methods with students of the specialty "tourism" in order to develop their competitiveness characteristics.
