Creativity as an important factor in the competitiveness of teacher of mathematics

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to investigate the problem of creativity as a determining factor of the competitiveness of teachers of mathematics. The methodology of the research is based on the theory of cognition, psychological and pedagogical theory of development and self-development of the personal and professional qualities of the specialist, methods of analysis of scientific literature, systematization, generalization. The scientific novelty of the article is to substantiate the role of creative activity as a leading factor in becoming a competitive teacher. The practical importance of the work lies in the separation of the personal and professional qualities of a competitive specialist, which can become the basis of the process of modeling of the system of formation of a competitive teacher. There are three groups of prerequisites for forming a competitive teacher. The first group is conditioned by the formation of the information society. The professional potential of the teacher can be effectively formed and realized if new information technologies are used in the competitive environment. They determine the flexibility of activities in performing a number of professional tasks. The second group of prerequisites is defined because of the need of the modern labor market for competent, highly qualified specialists who possess a number of subject competences, developed internal motivational characteristics related to the system of personal values, as well as such competencies as initiative, direct interest in improving the pedagogical activity. The third group is conditioned by the need for creative pedagogical activity, since the latter allows to re-evaluate a certain life situation, promotes systemic vision, enhances motivation, searches for non-standard problem-solving and drives innovation. Teacher competitiveness is defined as the set of personal and professional qualities necessary for successful employment and professional adaptation in the field of pedagogical activity. These include: high level of pedagogical and scientific competence, possession of pedagogical technique, high level of development of intellectual skills, imagination and intuition, flexibility, autonomy and critical thinking, extraordinary solution of pedagogical tasks, striving for creative search, creativity. The creative activity of the teacher is revealed as a process connected with the solution of non-standard mathematical problems, creation of new mathematical theories, development, testing and dissemination of pedagogical innovations.
