Work with wastes as a way of stimulation creative activity of primary pupils

Abstract

The article reveals the possible use of waste materials at labor lessons by pupils of elementary school in order to develop and diversify their activities. The accessibility and diversity of waste materials according to their form, colour and material give new opportunity for young pupils to develop their creativity, as far as the products made of waste materials can be very varied. Dealing with waste materials can reduce reproductive and executive types of jobs with traditional materials and turn them into creative activity of primary school pupils. This activity is based on creating a new original product with the usage of new items and means of activities .The article gives the division of creative abilities by component composition and the division of socially significant qualities associated with creative activity and creative personality. The article represents schematic plan analysis and the acquaintance with the properties of waste materials, that contribute to the understanding of the usage and selection of the optimal waste materials in wares. It is important to develop in young school children the ability to analyze and synthesize the form of waste materials, to develop spatial imagination and individual creative abilities. The ability to select the materials, handle the forms and combine them into the products enabled the younger students to improve the quality of the performed work for by 34%. The number of students who could fully completed the work increased by 34%, and to show imagination and creativity could 66% of students. While working on this method significantly decreased(about 50%) the consumption of materials due to the fact that students choosed the right materials, analyzed the forms and used creative approach to the manufacture of the products. We have shown that the expression of creativity increases in the process of collective tasks that encourage students to improvement and implementation of a new tasks. Practical significance of the work with waste materials in the process of stimulating creative activity lies in the fact that all these types of work can be incorporated into training programs. Further investigation of waste materials in term of stimulating creative abilities of younger pupils can be directed on the development of the design activity.
