Abstract

The article highlights unresolved problems, contradictions and shortcomings of the national education system. The author is note about the necessity of introducing the subject-subject format of relations between those who teach and those who learn, as well as changing the traditional progressive-scientistic educational paradigm to a humanitarian-existential one, based on the philosophy of the primacy of human existence in the world. In modernizing and reforming Ukrainian education it is necessary to take into account global civilizational processes, changes in social development, as well as the peculiarities of the current political, economic and social situation in Ukraine. Due to the fact that the modern national educational system is oriented to the values of European education, the obvious and main requirement is to educate a new person who adheres to European norms of community and prepared for life in a common European home. The main requirements for a teacher who should be able to educate such a person are presented.
