Abstract

The Ukrainian language course is an important component of primary education, as it is not only a separate subject, but also the main means of mastering all other school subjects. During the Ukrainian language lessons primary school pupils acquire not only the special language and speaking knowledge, but important educational tasks are also realized, the modern language personality is formed. Pupils' attitude to the native language, history, culture and literature, features of the citizen and patriot are formed by means of the school textbook. The article aims to reveal the linguistic and methodological principles of creating the Ukrainian language textbooks of the new generation for primary school (grades 2-4). Thus, the construction of a modern speech and language school course will contribute to the active, dynamic formation of a language personality. After all, those types of educational activities that will be carried out according to the textbook on the basis of communicative, linguistic, cultural and activity aspects of the course will provide at the same time active socialization of pupils.
