Abstract
Retrofitting has become an imperative part for the existing buildings world-wide. As the replacement of a structure damaged due to the seismic effect is not efficient in terms of cost, therefore, it is necessary to make the building safe with the help of various retrofitting techniques. Retrofitting of a structure is economically well suited and time saving technique. Various conventional and non-conventional techniques for retrofitting are being widely used all round the world. As the necessity of retrofitting is enhancing day by day, we need to explore more in terms of materials and methods for more versatile technology. This article focusses on new innovate materials which have been investigated and developed globally.
