The banking sector of Russia and its analysis

This article assesses the state and peculiarities of development of the Russian banking sector and its traditional activities. The main attention is paid to the activities of banks in the credit market and activities related to the attraction of financial resources. The impact of the coronavirus pandemic, recognized as a key factor of influence for 2019-2020. The high concentration of the Russian banking sector and dependence on a small number of large systemically important banks is emphasized. The significant influence of the state monetary policy on the state of the banking sector, objectively reinforced by the reality of sanctions in 2022, is noted.
