Abstract
As a potential method for the targeted therapeutic heating of malignancies, the activation of magnetic nanoparticles (mNPs) by an alternating magnetic field (AMF) is now under investigation. Tumor site and type specificity is achieved by the use of superparamagnetic and ferromagnetic particles coated with various targeted agents. The use of magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia as a supplement to standard cancer treatments including chemotherapy and radiation is now under investigation. This research reveals how superparamagnetic nanoparticles may be made and put to use in radiotherapy.
