FEATURES OF TOURINS AND LOCAL ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT IN MODERN UKRAINIAN SCHOOL

Introduction. The research relevance is determined by the extremely important role that tourist and local activity plays in the development of a comprehensively developed personality of a student and the challenges of the present time to the education of national consciousness, readiness to fulfil the civic duty to protect the national interests, integrity and independence of Ukraine. Purpose. The article aims to study features of tourist and local activity organizations in modern schools to generalize their experience and enhance their efficiency. Methods. The issue was studied using the following methods: mathematical methods, graphical methods, method of analysis, synthesis method and comparison methods. The information collection was done by carrying out a survey. For this purpose, a special questionnaire was developed. The questionnaire questions were divided into three blocks related to different aspects of tourist regional activity: organizational, geographical and emotional. Results: The work reveals the prevalence of tourist clubs as a form of organization of tourist and local activity in modern schools of the research area and students' participation in their work. It considers organizational moments of tourist activity the systematicity of tourist activities and organizers' issues. The tourist trips' geography is analysed in categories: «cities», «natural objects», and «industrial facilities». Forms of work with students during tourist hikes and excursions to museums are studied. The emotional aspects affecting the success of tourist activities were studied: the general attitude of students to tourist and local events, impressions they made, the existence of family travelling traditions and expectations from tourist trips. Originality. The scientific novelty of the work is in the further development of studying tourist and local activity features in a modern school. It's studying three aspects: organizational, geographical and emotional providing the opportunity to analyse its state deeply and determine the priority directions for its development. Conclusion. The study of important aspects of tourist and local activity provides an opportunity to consider the most common forms of such activity, its organizational issues, and students' preferences, which must be taken into account to improve its quality and students' general attitude towards local history and tourism. The study and generalization of such experience may be useful for organizers of tourist and local history activities in secondary schools, heads of clubs and sections, classroom teachers, and teachers of natural and social sciences who use local history material in their lessons. In the future, research may be aimed at studying the information component of hiking and its role in conducting scientific research, as well as the health aspects of tourism and local history activities. In peacetime, the exchange of useful information will help to increase the effectiveness of tourism and local history activities in a modern school, which will contribute to the harmonious development of the student's personality – improving health, intellectual growth, broadening horizons, developing critical thinking, observation, creativity, increasing interest in learning, patriotic, environmental, and labour education.
