Abstract

This article is dedicated to exploring the peculiarities of tourism development in the conditions of a military con‑ flict. It is noted that adverse conditions affect the tourism industry, compelling tourist companies to reconsider their strategies and adapt to new realities. Changes in the choice of tourist destinations, impacts on safety and infrastructure, as well as per‑ spectives on the recovery of the tourism sector after the war are discussed. The author analyzes the experiences of other coun‑ tries that have undergone similar trials, including Croatia, Israel, and Georgia, to draw conclusions about possible ways of recov‑ ery and development of tourism in Ukraine. Additionally, the author highlights the impact of the state of war on the reduction of tourist flows, especially from abroad, leading to a decrease in orders for hotel services and other tourism-related services. It is emphasized that tourism enterprises need to pay special attention to issues of safety and protection of tourists, which becomes a top priority in the conditions of a military conflict. Furthermore, the article examines the impact of war on transportation infrastructure and logistics in the tourism sector. Tourism enterprises face more challenging conditions for transporting tourists, changes in routes, and delays, which can result in additional costs and affect the cost of tourist packages. In the context of the post-war period, the author also analyzes the dynamics of tax payments by tourism enterprises and their contribution to the budget. It is noted that in the conditions of a state of war, it is important to use tourism as a tool for economic recovery, em‑ phasizing its potential to attract foreign investments and support sustainable development in regions. Overall, the article aims to provide a deep analysis and discussion of the peculiarities and prospects of tourism development in the conditions of war, taking into account the challenges and opportunities that this situation can bring to the Ukrainian tourism industry. Analyzing the peculiarities of tourism development in a state of war can serve as a basis for developing strategies and policies aimed at the recovery and sustainable functioning of the tourism sector in unstable conditions.
